The Pacific Track PT40 is officially certified as a “Continuously Connected Device” in the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Clean Truck Check program for both J1939 and J1979 (OBD-II) vehicles.
When enabled by solution providers, this feature allows the PT40 to periodically (or when requested by CARB) send compliance information to CARB. This remote testing capability eliminates the need for the operator to spend time going to a test station or to develop an in-house testing program.
The PT40 automatically retrieves the emissions data that is accumulated by the vehicle’s engine control modules while the truck is idling and sends an encrypted report to CARB. If the truck starts moving while the device is capturing data, the process is automatically restarted later. The information submitted to CARB does not include any telematics data, including current or historical location, speed, driving behavior, etc.
The CARB solution is fully integrated into Pacific Track’s Visual Telematics eXperience (VTX) platform . VTX automatically displays Clean Truck Check information for devices with this feature enabled.
